Pensthorpe Natural Park is a 700-acre nature reserve and woodland conservation park near Fakenham, Norfolk. It has interactive trails and eco-play areas making it a great family-friendly day out.

What can you do at Pensthorpe Natural Park?

The park is a multiple-winner of Norfolk’s best large attraction. The nature reserve has a number of bird hides so don’t forget your binoculars. The Wader Scrape is a former favourite with BBC’s Springwatch and is an insect and waterfowl-rich habitat. The Wetland Discovery area is home to cranes and flamingos plus pond dipping areas and the largest bird hide at the park.

There are four themed gardens at the park including the Millenium Garden, Wildlife Habitat Garden, Corten Infinity Garden and the Wave and Wave Line Garden. All of which are spectacular at most times of the year. There is a tractor train which takes you on a tour of the estate (for a small charge).

WildRootz is an outdoor adventure play area. There are 30ft towers, zip wires, tunnels and twisty slides. The play equipment is both innovative and challenging. The Wildrootz stream is perfect for a paddle. Hootz House is an indoor play area that has lots of fun wooden play equipment. Within the park there are various sculptures to find, you can tick them off on your park guide. Hootz House can be hired out for birthday parties.
