Haldon Forest Park
Haldon Forest Park is maintained by Forestry England and is located near Exeter in Devon. It is home to a Go Ape course, cycling and mountain biking trails, walking trails, family-friendly trails and a natural play area.
What can you do at Haldon Forest Park?
The woodland is around 3,500 acres in size. For the cyclists in your family, there is a range of cycling trails to suit all abilities. Plus there is a pump loop, a cycle skills area and bike hire. There are 9 different trails on offer ranging from easy trails for families through to mountain biking and skills trails.
In the woodland, they usually have a family-friendly interactive trail. Trails in the past have included the Gruffalo, Superworm, Shaun the Sheep and more. Please see their website for the current trail. There is a Gruffalo sculpture all year round in the forest plus a Gruffalo Orienteering course. These both have a small charge for the activity pack.
Walking trails include a Butterfly trail, a Discovery trail, Nordic walking and a raptor trail. Most of the trails have fun features along the route and some stunning views to enjoy.
