The Ilkley Toy Museum is located in the town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire. At the museum, you can discover the history of toys through the ages and some of the children who played with them. The museum first opened in 2001.

Things to do at Ilkley Toy Museum

The museum is home to a private collection of toys that date back to 350 BC. There is a fairground automaton that goes into action once you put a token in the slot. There is also a Hornby clockwork train lift. Plus there is a large display of furnished doll houses. These are mainly Victorian and are mostly from England and Germany.

There are classic toys such as toy cars, Bond villains, toy soldiers and dolls. The oldest exhibit is the 350 BCE ceramic doll. Plus a display of wooden dolls from 1750-1760. There are also teddy bears, tinplate toys, games and more.
