Play Avenue is a role-play centre in Messingham, near Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. It is a spacious indoor centre where kids can run wild with their imaginations. They can explore the world of adults and pretend to be doctors, builders, actors, shop assistants and more.

Things to do at Play Avenue

There is a main central play area and then lots of smaller play areas in what looks like real shops/buildings. Each is kitted out with realistic and age-appropriate props to help give Play Avenue a ‘grown-up’ feel. Each session lasts for 1 hour and 30 minutes. There are 15 different areas waiting to be explored.

In the builder’s yard, there is everything kids need for an imaginary build. There are hard hats, realistic bricks, dumper trucks and even blueprints. The hair salon has a reception desk and stylist stations. Kids will love the fire station with uniforms, a fire pole, a pretend fire engine and lockers.

As well as a real cafe there is even a pretend cafe with a counter, coffee machine, play food, cups and aprons. The post office has pigeon holes, parcels, letters and sacks for delivery. In the doctor’s surgery, there are realistic accessories including a doctor’s couch, eye chart, stethoscope and more. Other areas include a police station, vets, maternity unit, supermarket and theatre. Plus an ice-cream van, picnic area, caravan and a beach. Play Avenue can also host birthday parties.
