Located on Cannon Street is the Playhouse Cinema Louth, Lincolnshire. They show current releases including family blockbusters, old classics, theatre shows, opera and more.
FIlms are mostly shown in 2D at this location and there are 3 screens, all of them have Dolby Digital surround sound. The cinema was first opened in 1921 after it was converted from a former Victorian chapel in 1821. Its art deco frontage came a decade later as well as stairs up to a newly built balcony. The cinema was extensively refurbished in 2011 and 2021 and digital projection was added and some films are shown in 3D. There is no extra charge to watch a 3D film but you will need glasses to watch them. These are available at the cinema and cost £1.50 and are reusable.
They offer a large variety of soft drinks, snacks and alcohol that you can enjoy before the film or take it through with you in a plastic glass. They also serve hot drinks. They can even host your child’s birthday party and you can hire for a private screening. They also have special parent and baby shows and look out for discounted sessions.
