Thursford’s Adventure Play Fair is one of East Anglia’s biggest themed outdoor play parks, offering families a huge vintage‑fairground‑inspired space packed with imaginative play. Covering an impressive 30,000 sq ft, the park is designed around classic fairground icons, all re‑imagined as climbable, slideable, fully immersive play structures.

Children can scale the heights of a giant Ferris Wheel, swoop down the Helter Skelter, spin on the Teacups, race around the Kart Track, and explore bridges, tunnels and high‑level walkways that link the whole play area together. There’s also a Crazy Carousel and plenty of sensory and interactive elements woven throughout the structures, keeping little ones engaged at every turn.

One of the standout features is the organ‑themed water play fountain, the first of its kind in the UK. With programmable jets that dance in patterns, it adds a unique splash‑play element to the day, especially on warm weather visits. Families should note that swim nappies are required for non‑toilet‑trained children, and water shoes are recommended as the area can get slippery.

The entire park has been built with a timber aesthetic and vintage fairground colours, giving it a nostalgic feel while still being fresh, modern and safe. It’s an “adventure” play park rather than a funfair, so there are no moving rides or pay-per-play attractions. Just one large, beautifully designed space for free play and exploration. It’s worth noting that to visit, you have to prebook online. It is designed for children up to the age of 14.
