The Wyre Forest Centre near Kidderminster in Worcestershire is a great outdoor day out with walking, cycling, running and horse trails available. They usually have a family-friendly trail and there is a play area.

What is there to do at Wyre Forest Centre?

There is an arboretum with an unusual Whittey Pear and an on-site cafe. If you can’t take your bikes with you there is a cycle hire shop and a Go Ape course for young and old. In the forest, there is a family mountain bike trail that takes you through a variety of woodland.

There are three waymarked walking trails to explore. Wyre and its surrounding woodlands are fantastic places to enjoy the fresh air and have fun outdoors. The children’s play area is a great place for kids to burn off excess energy. You can also give orienteering a try with the Gruffalo orienteering course. There is just a small charge of £1.50 for the map. Deep in the forest, you may even find a sculpture of the Gruffalo or the Gruffalo’s child.
