Easter has become so much more of an ‘event’ than when I was a kid. There are now so many attractions across England that hold family-friendly Easter events every year. Many places hold Easter-themed trails where you can collect a prize at the end where others go all out with decorations and other fun things to do.

The National Trust have traditionally been one of the best places to enjoy an Eater-themed trail but now there’s so much more to choose from. We take a look at some of the best Easter events that kids will love across the main areas and counties of England.

Up in the North East, we have found Easter events for kids in County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. Beamish host some fun Easter celebrations with a range of activities and you can enjoy an Easter Trail at the magnificent High Force Waterfall.

In the North West, there are events in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. Cockfields Farm is a great place for Easter-themed fun as they host an Easter Eggstravaganza event. Quarry Bank is the place to visit for a value-for-money Easter egg trail.

There are plenty of Easter events in Yorkshire with almost 40 to choose from across the North, East, South and West. Bolton Abbey always hosts a fun Easter-themed trail and Stockeld Park goes all out with decorations and a fun trail.

In the East Midlands across Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire there are around 20 different events. With some fun trails at places like Burghley House and Bolsover Castle and some great Easter theming and activities at Gulliver’s Kindom.

In East Anglia, we have found around 40 events for this Easter in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. With themed trails at Cammas Hall Farm, Colchester Zoo, Framlingham Castle and more. Jimmy’s Farm usually has lots of sheep ready to lamb.

The West Midlands has one of our longest lists with almost 30 events across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Birmingham/West Midlands. You can usually see lambs at Hatton Adventure World, enjoy a themed trail at Hawstone Park Follies and you can attend one of English Heritage’s Easter Adventure Quests at Stokesay Castle.

Down to the southwest, we have found events across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Bristol and Wiltshire. There are just over 30 events including an Easter Egg trail at Dartmoor Zoo, a themed tractor ride at Farmer Palmers and a full-on Easter celebration at Longleat.

Across to the southeast, there is a range of events across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, London, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire and Surrey. This list is huge with just over 60 family-friendly Easter events to choose from. Our particular favourites are Easter Weekend at Blenheim Palace where they go all out with activities. Fairytale Farm has eggcellent Easter displays, crafts, games, scavenger hunts and more.

We have also found some great events in Wales. There is an Easter Egg Hunt trail at Bodnant Garden or you could meet newborn lambs at Cantref Adventure Farm.
