Spain is the most popular destination for us Brits with many of us visiting for the sun and the beaches. It has an incredibly long coastline with numerous beaches plus it has warmer and better weather than other countries in mainland Europe.
Not only do you have some excellent beach destinations but there is a large number of UNESCO World Heritage sites and historic cities such as Barcelona and Madrid. You also have a great number of Spanish Islands to choose from including the main islands in the Balearics of Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza. Plus the Canary Islands including the larger islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. These destinations are all very popular with British tourists.
Spain has a great number of all-inclusive hotels. We will often opt to stay all-inclusive as you know what your budget is. Once the holiday is paid for it’s pretty much paid for. You can go on an all-inclusive package holiday through Jet2 or TUI and know if you don’t want to spend any additional money while on holiday you really don’t have to. One of our favourites is the Evenia Zoraida Hotel. Located on the beachfront it has a fun aquatic area plus comfortable and stylish rooms.
Another great reason to visit Spain is that there is a hotel for every budget. Plus budget hotels don’t necessarily mean budget facilities. There are some great hotels in Spain that go easy on the purse strings and get some great reviews.
Not only is Spain well-known for a great number of waterparks there are also many hotels with some excellent waterparks. We have a post that lists some of our favourite hotels with waterparks on-site or that are included in your stay. Magic Natura near Benidorm is one of our favourites with one of the biggest water parks in the area.
We mentioned how great Spain is for beaches above. If you’re looking for a great hotel on the beachfront then look no further as we have the post for you. We have a number of hotels listed and as well as being able to spend time on the beach there are other fun things to do at each.
On mainland Spain, we love the Costa Del Sol for a family holiday. This is one of the most travelled to regions and with its location on the south coast of Spain, it benefits from some of the best weather. Malaga airport is one of our favourites. It’s not too big and is modern in design. Benalmadena is also a great destination with a good range of hotels many of which are on the seafront.
For those that love a huge choice of restaurants, bars and a big sandy beach then you might want to look at booking a holiday to Benidorm. Benidorm is like a mini city with high-rise buildings and nearby there is a great zoo and water park. Plus the airport of Alicante isn’t too far away.
