Lombard’s Seafood Grille is located within Universal Studios Park in Florida. You will need a park entry ticket to be able to eat at this restaurant. We liked it so much that we ate there twice, I will include a review of our two meals at Lombard’s below. It is also one of the very few restaurants at the Universal Parks and City Walk that you can make a reservation for in advance.

The restaurant is very appealing from the outside and looks like you are visiting a fisherman’s wharf somewhere in the USA. It is set on the waterfront at Universal Studios and you can’t miss it so have no fear about not being able to find it.

They do have some seating outside however the air conditioning is lovely inside and worth sitting inside just to cool down properly for a bit.

Inside Lombard’s Seafood Grille

There’s been some real attention to detail paid within Lombard’s Seafood Grille. The theme is that of fish and the water. When you arrive you are greeted by the friendly reception staff. If you haven’t already pre-booked online it’s worth popping in here a few hours before you want to eat to reserve a table.

We pre-booked the first time but the second time we turned up an hour before we wanted to eat and managed to reserve a table for just after 12 pm. Behind the staff, there is a lovely water display with large metal fish.

It’s worth trying to get a table near the large fish tank in the centre of the room. It’s great for keeping little ones entertained as like a lot of the Universal restaurants there is no colouring supplied for the kids.

Menu Review Lombard’s Seafood Grille, Universal

The staff in Lombard’s are excellent. We had a different member of staff on both occasions and they are attentive and helpful. They run through the specials with you and can offer advice if you aren’t sure what to choose. The service was spot on for both visits.

The menu is the same for lunch and dinner. They have appetizers/starters from $9.00 up to $17.00. This includes roasted garlic edamame $9, calamari $15 and tune poke $17.

They have salads priced around $17.00.

For entrees/main course, they have a number of dishes to choose from priced from $19 up to $30.00. Including shrimp alfredo $25, fish and chips $24 and crab $30.

My husband chose the Roast beef dip sandwich. Which was thinly roasted beef with onions and melted Swiss cheese, served on rosemary focaccia bread, with jus for dipping.
Served with French fries. He didn’t eat a lot of this as it was incredibly filling. He was also not a fan of the jus for dipping the bread into. It was a huge plate of food for the money.

During our other visit, my husband chose Lombard’s signature burger. He raved about it so much that I had it myself on our second visit. It was indeed very good. We had 1/2 pound of Black Angus beef topped with braised beef short ribs, caramelized onions, buttermilk blue cheese, bacon, roasted tomatoes with fresh greens and fried crispy onions on a toasted challah bun.

As mentioned above I also tried the Lombard’s signature burger during our second visit. The first time we ate at Lombard’s I had the chicken macaroni cheese pasta dish. This is currently not on their menu but it was very good. It’s a shame it’s not currently on their menu.

Children’s Menu Review Lombard’s Seafood Grille

They have around 8 dishes on the children’s menu all priced at $10. Children can choose from grilled chicken, baked cod, Lombard’s burger and more with a choice of mostly very healthy sides. Most of the kid’s drinks are also good value for money at around $2.99 a drink.

Our son chose the grilled ham sandwich with rice and grapes. The bread looked more fried in oil than grilled but that may be us not understanding what ‘grilled’ means in America. He chose rice and grapes to go with his sandwich and he probably ate more of that than he did the sandwich. Although he loved the ham as it was more like grilled gammon steak.

The second time we ate at Lombard’s he chose the children’s burger with rice and grapes. He loved this and the burger looked to be of good quality. There are certainly no small portion sizes at Lombard’s. Both plates of food were very generous.

Kids can have sorbet or ice cream for $3.50 for dessert.

Overall the service was excellent, the food was tasty – hot – and served relatively quickly. It was good value for money (especially after some time spent at Disney!).
