Gran Canaria is a Spanish Island in the Canary Islands. It benefits from fabulous temperatures all year round and it is a great place to visit for a holiday escape from it all. The vast majority of activities below are suitable for families. Some are just for adults or may have age/height restrictions. We have highlighted some of the best tours the island has to offer where you will get to see many of the best places in Gran Canaria.
We have broken down the activities into sections. You can choose a boat trip, snorkelling activity or other water-based activities. You could book a camel ride on the Maspalomas dunes or enjoy adventure outdoor activities, Plus there are walking tour trips where you will see some amazing places and views and some activities take in the rich history of the island.
There are activities that last for an hour through to half-day and full day activities. Plus activities where you will explore the island via a range of mode of transportation. Many of the excursions have pick-ups from popular resorts and some are great value for money.

The submarine adventure was a really cool Day trip. I wouldn’t say it’s hugely adventurous but a very pleasant voyage under the sea. We saw a good amount of fish and the shipwrecks were interesting to learn about and see. I think the kids would really like this. I can cross riding in a submarine off my bucket list. It was a very fun day.

Brilliant, fun, relaxing, well-organised boat trip. There was plenty of outside seating for everyone and the food and drinks were great – my husband especially appreciated the self-pouring beer tap! The staff were all greatly entertaining and spoke great English. We did the Friday morning cruise which also had a live saxophonist on the boat ride back which really made the trip feel special and unique. The food provided was excellent and a good way of serving it rather than a buffet style. Loved all the activities that were available to everyone and really good value on the jet skis. great trip!

This was amazing from start to finish. I was the only one who booked to go that day so I had both instructors to myself. I got a message the night before confirming what time they would collect me from my hotel. This was my first time snorkeling and the instructors were very patient and took everything at the pace I wanted to go. We were in the water around 45-50 minutes and they were really informative, constantly pointing out things to look for and explaining the names of all the sea life we saw. The price also includes door to door pick up and drop off back to your hotel, which is perfect.

It was good, it is hard not to feel a bit bad for the camels, but there is weight restrictions which suggest they are well taken care of. It was peaceful though and we had nice weather, definitely a good experience and glad we did it! It is easy to find and most taxi drivers will know where to go if you tell them it’s camel rides, but the address given on the GetYourGuide app is accurate when put into maps

Amazing, the staff was helpful friendly and very playful with my two kids aged 3 & 4. The pick-up was on time and wasn’t far from our hotel in Playa del Ingles. Food was chicken paella, olives and cheese, potatoes and more, even included a free drink. Excellent value for money for myself and my two children loved it

Really good fun. Guides speak numerous languages (so impressive). Approx 60-70% on road driving but small roads. Amazing views. Very, very dusty. Would recommend wearing old/dirty clothes and possibly a hat! Took 3 washes of my hair to get the dust out! But it’s definitely worth it. Good fun.

It was a long bus ride but not long enough at each town. Could have done without half an hour at the Aloe Vera place and longer at the beautiful towns, we just had time for a few pics then had to go back to the bus. Overall though it was worth it. Some fantastic sites.

A fantastic day. Great to see so many interesting and beautiful sights. Pavel is an amazing guide – he is so knowledgeable, entertaining and he is super organized. He provides coffee and snacks in the morning at no extra cost and he pre-orders lunch at a great restaurant (which is payable to the restaurant on the day). The trip is for approx. 20-25 people so is on a smaller bus which is great for navigating some windy roads and tight spots. Fantastic day, what a way to take in the island. Our guide Kevin was hilarious and extremely knowledgeable about the island. We were an all-English group and Kevin’s English was impressive given he’s German. Absolutely loved the drive up through the mountains, the beautiful villages and of course the food. A very fine tour, where we saw almost all parts of the city. We actually took the tour twice and never waited long for the bus. Two small minuses was the quality of the sound in the earphones and the fact, that the driver didn’t know how to handle our home-printed tickets. Though he was very kind and patient and called the office to get it right.

The guys who picked us up were there earlier and waited for us. Very polite guys and very funny as well. The horse riding experience was worth every penny. Beautiful views, lovely ladies who helped us all. There were 9 of us altogether, some nervous and the ladies dealt brilliantly with them. The horses were all lovely, and clean and you could tell they were looked after. Thank you for a lovely experience all! Highly recommend!!

Went with my 2 boys 11 and 7. The 2 guys on the boat Tony and Ibar were very friendly and made the boys feel at ease as they were a bit nervous. Overall a good experience only down point is its short experience at about 10 mins if you go for the 300m option. Boys enjoyed the high-speed journey back to Port after the flight. Overall it’s an enjoyable experience.

The most friendly and enthusiastic staff ever. Danny is an amazing instructor, and he taught and helped each and every participant with passion. Trip Information – “Embark on a canyoning adventure: descend into a canyon, travel through the watercourse and enjoy exercises such as walking, jumping, swimming and abseiling. You will be dressed in neoprene, a helmet, and security personal equipment (harness, carabiner and descender).

Loved it! Abseiling down waterfalls was really fun and challenged your courage. Be prepared for a few bumps and bruises and a climbing walk back up to where you start from – recommend for people with good fitness levels. wear a swimsuit and bring a sports top/shorts with you. Wear solid shoes that will get completely soaked. Don’t have strict plans for the day because you might finish later than expected depending on the group size.

The activity was very well organized. I haven’t had an experience neither with scuba diving nor with snorkelling, which is why I guess I was completely out of balance in the water, but thanks to my instructor Mari at the end, I was able to swim through the reef and see some fish. Overall it was a really amazing experience.

The whole trip was well organised from start to finish with tour leader Angelica’s knowledge, passion and enthusiasm shining through. She was definitely an asset and added to the enjoyment of the tour. Also a nod to the driver who negotiated some tricky mountain roads! Some stunning scenery throughout made this a very special trip. The sunset views at the end were jaw-droppingly beautiful! If you only book 1 trip on your holiday to Gran Canaria you’d find it difficult to beat this one!
