If you’re looking for a Christmas activity to get you and the children into the Christmas spirit then this is a very magical experience. It is delightful for children and adults and an absolute must for any Thomas The Tank Engine Fans. Some aspects may not be the same this year. Please check their website.

On entering the Theme park children are enthusiastically greeted by Jingle the Elf and Roary the Lion giving plenty of opportunities to take photos or “Elfies.” During the Christmas Period, there are shows and sing-a-longs throughout the day with the Fat Controller and his mischievous helpers Rusty and Dusty which culminates with artificial snow falling down on the audience each time making it all so much more Christmassy! Jugglers and stilt walkers entertain families and staff all genuinely appear to be happy to work there.

Elves entertain the children whilst you queue and then direct you to your own visiting room with Santa. Children receive a bag with a bear in a jumper and some vouchers for the Theme park. Families exit into the castle where they can take photos on a sleigh, have their faces painted and colour Christmas pictures. There is also a shop where you can purchase gifts or your photo with Santa.

Primary-age or older children might also enjoy Cranky’s Drop Tower or Rocking Bulstrode. With indoor and outdoor Thomas-themed play areas as well as a Thomas exhibition and shops there is plenty to do. Those wanting something scarier can choose The Accelerator a roller-coaster ride which catapults you from a height and then takes you backwards!
