Telford Steam Railway

Telford Steam Railway

Telford Steam Railway is a heritage railway located in Horsehay, Shropshire. It is operated by a team of volunteers on Sundays and bank holidays. The track length is 1 mile long and they run two different steam trains on this track.

There is a cute model railway at the station which has some lovely details to it. If you want you can also enjoy a ride on their Steam Tram and coach. This runs on a 2-foot narrow gauge track around the bank of the lake known as Horsehay Pool. It goes in a complete circle and rides start adjacent to their toilet back and call at the main loco shed. They hope for the area to one day have a vintage street scene with a shop front to disguise the toilets.

Phoenix Miniature railway can also be seen in operation, but only on the last Sunday of each month, and every Bank Holiday Monday and Sunday, for a small charge of £1 per person. They host a range of events, including many family-friendly events.
