If you are visiting Salisbury you may want to pay a visit to the Salisbury Museum. It is situated in the medieval King’s house with the glorious setting of Salisbury Cathedral. The museum houses one of the best collections relating to Stonehenge and local archaeology in the country.

Things to do at The Salisbury Museum

The original three-storey building houses the main temporary exhibition gallery with the ceramics above. The building has ornate plaster ceilings, a fine oak-balustraded staircase and the arms of Henry Frederick, Prince of Wales in the window of the Wedgwood gallery upstairs.

Notable objects include a meteorite and a collection of clothing relating to the people in and around Salisbury from over the past 250 years. The museum offers a regular programme of activities and events, for families to encourage learning and exploring.
