Following on from my epic post of 20 Great Things to do in Bridlington I am now bringing you a big list of things to do near Bridlington. Honestly, there is just so much to do I couldn’t possibly put it all in just one post. Some of these things to do are really close to Bridlington, literally just a mile away. Some are further afield but I have tried to keep everything within a 20 minutes drive away.

We recommend staying near Bridlington at the local Haven holiday park in Flamborough.

Bondville Model Village – Sewerby – 1.1 miles, approx. 3 mins drive

About – Bondville is exactly what it says it is – a model village. It is located on the Bridlington/Sewerby border by the sea. There is a pay and display car park with plenty of parking. Bondville is also one of the stops for the north beach land train. It’s a really cute little place. It won’t take you a huge amount of time to walk around so make sure you stop every few steps to have a really good look at everything. There is a tearoom and gift shop on-site. Find Out More

Bridlington Birds of Prey and animal park – Carnaby – 4.8 miles, approx 12 mins drive

About Bridlington Birds of Prey and animal park is one of the smallest animal parks I’ve ever been to. But we love it. There are some lovely unique things to do there and the staff are so passionate about the place and their animals. Our highlight is being allowed into the wallaby enclosure and being able to feed them.

They have lots on throughout the day including reptile handling, a bird of prey flying display, owl handling and more. There is no cafe on-site but you can pop next door during your visit which does have a cafe. You can also book animal experiences at the park. Find Out More

Dane’s Dyke – 3 miles – approx 9 mins drive

AboutDane’s Dyke is a beach located just north of Bridlington/Sewerby and just south of Flamborough. I was always led to believe that Danes Dyke was named as such because of its Viking visitors long ago. In fact, the bank and ditch earthwork ‘wall’ which cut off Flamborough peninsula from the mainland is said to date back to Iron Age times. It may even be post-Roman and was intended as a defensive structure to protect headland settlements.

It is the most northerly outcropping of coastal chalk in Britain. The walk down to the gorgeous pebble beach is short but if you take a left when you leave you can take a one-mile woodland walk back to the car park. There is a small kiosk open for snacks and drinks from 10 am on most days. Find Out More

Flamborough Head – North Beach – 5.2 miles, approx 13 mins drive

About – The main highlight of a visit to Flamborough Lighthouse is to spend some time at Flamborough Head. There is an on-site cafe, gift shop and toilets. The main draw though is the views. The cliffs surrounding Flamborough Head are stunning and you can enjoy great views in either direction.

This is also a good place to spot wild sea birds nesting on the cliffs. If you are really lucky you may even spot a puffin. If you can make the steep walk down to Flamborough’s north beach (at Flamborough head) it is a beach worth visiting. You will need to check the tide times though. When the tide is out there are mini caves and rock pools. There are a lot of steps down and back up again though, but it is worth it.

AboutRSPB Bempton Cliffs is a nature reserve on the cliffs of the Yorkshire coastline. It is a very popular place for nesting sea birds including gannets, puffins, guillemots, razorbills and more. It’s a lovely spot to go for a walk along the cliff edges and to see what birds you can spot. Make sure you pick a nice clear day for your visit though as the mist can easily block your view.
