Gran Canaria is certainly one of the most family-friendly of the Spanish Canary Islands to visit. It benefits from fabulous weather and temperatures all year round and there is so much for families to do there. Plus there are some really excellent hotels crammed full of great pools and facilities.

We have a list highlighting our top 12 things to do in Gran Canaria with kids. There is Palmitos Park which is a zoo set in some of the most stunning scenery on the island. You can go for a camel ride in Maspalomas or shoot down some slides at Aqualand. There is truly something for all ages.
Another fun thing to do in Gran Canaria is take a ride on a glass-bottom boat. In fact, there are some excellent boat trips in Gran Canaria including many that take you out to sea in the hope of spotting dolphins.
There are a number of excellent family-friendly tours and excursions you can join in with. You can sink under the water on a submarine tour, take a guided trip paddling your own canoe or even go on a guided buggy tour.
Marina Suites in Puerto Rico is to this day one of our favourite hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We can highly recommend a suite with a harbour view. It’s magical watching the harbour change from daytime to nighttime. There is also a gorgeous infinity pool and a couple of excellent on-site restaurants.
We also loved our stay at the Cordial Mogan Playa which is a short walk from Puerto De Mogan and the beach. The reception area is stunning with a big coloured glass dome, caves, waterfalls and planting. There are two large pools, a children’s playground and some excellent evening entertainment.
