When our son was growing up we lived in Lincolnshire for a few years. We lived there for the years preceding school so we enjoyed a huge number of days out across the county. Because of this we also wrote a huge number of days out posts including a listing for each individual attraction.
If you live there, near there or are considering staying on holiday in the area then we have lots of posts to help you with your planning. If you are looking for somewhere to stay then you might want to check out or post of the best Caravan Parks in Lincolnshire.
Lincoln is the ‘capital’ of Lincolnshire and it is one of our favourite cities to visit. There is so much to do there and it’s incredibly historical especially up by Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral. You can enjoy a boat trip on the canal, visit some excellent free museums and so much more.
Across Lincolnshire, there are around 30 soft play centres which we list in this comprehensive post. For other indoor ideas, why not check out our rainy day days out post?
Outdoors there are around 10 splash parks and outdoor swimming pools in Lincolnshire which are great for visiting with kids. We also have a post highlighting our favourite free things to do in Lincolnshire in the summer, great for saving some pounds.
Lincolnshire has some great seaside resorts with Mablethorpe and Skegness being our favourites. We have visited both a number of times and we have a comprehensive list of things to do in Skegness and things to do in Mablethorpe with Kids. Plus a list of things to do in Cleethorpes.
Skegness is also home to a great theme park, Fantasy Island plus not far from here you will find Butlins. We have stayed there three times now and also visited twice on a day pass. There is so much to do on-site, it’s a great place to take kids of all ages.
For a comprehensive list of things to do in Lincolnshire please check out our post with over 200 great family things to do. It’s amazing just how much this county has to offer! 40 of those ideas are free or incredibly cheap to visit.
Some of our favourite days out in Lincolnshire include Springfields Adventure Land, Belton House, Burghley House, Tattershall Farm, the Kinema in the Woods and Donna Nook Nature Reserve
